Thompson Drops out of Race

Just got word from KCCI TV (via email, not posted on the web site yet) that Fred has decided to drop out of the race.  More to come later today, I’m sure.

Disappointing, to say the least.…

Where in the World is Fred Thompson?

We’ve had a number of hits on this site today that appear to be attempts by our fellow Fred-heads to find out what’s going on with Fred.  Does anyone know for sure?  I’m still hoping he stays in… Florida’s just around the corner!

Fred, please give us a sign!…

Huck Chucks His Integrity?

To a group in Myrtle Beach, did Mike Huckabee really say:

“You don’t want people from outside the state coming in and telling you what to do with your flag,” Huckabee told an audience in Myrtle Beach. “If somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we’d tell ’em what to do with the pole.”

?????

No, he could not have, could he? I’m reading this on just about every major news site… I’m flumaxed.  All of the back and forth I’m reading is about this being a racist comment, which is certainly not a big stretch, but I’ve got a bigger problem with the statement.  This is a patently offensive statement (due to the obvious unspoken innuendo) in any …

1 Year from Today…

January 20, 2009, we will be inaugurating a new President. Only 1 candidate truly really reflects a true conservative point of view, and that’s Fred Thompson.

That said, here’s where we are. Still somewhat early in the process, but here’s the thing. Thompson has not yet won in any state, currently holding 5 delegates. As of today, my hope is that Thompson would continue as long as the funds are available, and until Super Tuesday. Several important things to consider: Thompson still has a chance, he is the only one bringing a real conservative message to the table. We need the message to stay in front of people even if we end up with someone other than Thompson. As BitHead said today, we may very …

Open Thread for South Carolina Primary and Nevada Caucus

We will be posting comments here throughout the day today. I’ll be out off-line for a few hours, but will be back. Please feel free to leave comments here throughout today regarding the polling.

11:00 AM ET: Today is a big day. Sister Toldjah notes that the weather in South Carolina is wintry and may keep voting numbers down and that Ron Paul is getting as desperate as Kucinich has been by asking, at the last minute, for the Nevada Caucus to be delayed due to “inconsistencies”.

2:00 PM ET: Apparently based on exit polling only, NBC has declared Mitt Romney the winner in the Nevada Caucus. Ron Paul, who was the only Republican to do any serious advertising in Nevada, was second, …

Stop The Craziness! South Carolina and Nevada, Help Us!

It seems that just when you think Mike Huckabee is seeing the light (or at least figuring out how to pretend he has), we get this…

[wp_youtube]T6Pv97p41Wo[/wp_youtube]

There’s some good comments in the midst of this interview, but there’s two real issues here:

1) Huck’s comments (actually from a speech the night before) make it sound like he thinks the Constitution needs to align with the Christian Bible. Although I don’t disagree that would be nice, it’s not a reasonable way to think about the meaning and purpose of the Constitution.

2) Huck’s comments in the interview with John Roberts just inflames the issue because he doesn’t answer the question about whether the Constitution is a secular document, and then goes on to say the …

New Goal, Fred-heads!

Thompson’s Campaign Passes $1 Million

Tonight (Monday), the Fred Thompson campaign exceeded the goal of a million dollars raised. Wow! And more and more people are getting behind the man… crowds are exceeding capacity now at rallies, and Fred’s numbers are up! Maybe Fred can sneak in the door while everyone else is arguing over who’s more important.…

Fred Thompson for President 2008

In case you haven’t been able to tell by the ads, we are supporting Fred Thompson’s nomination as the Republican Party’s Presidential Candidate.  We’ve written a statement regarding the reasons for our support, which really all boils down to this: Fred is the one candidate who holds a strong, consistent conservative viewpoint and isn’t a Libertarian extremist dressed up as a Republican.  I will add that I have yet to see anything of substance that can be held against this man with regard to his record.  I also wonder if the MSM’s lack of coverage of Thompson stems partly from an inability to dig up any dirt.  Just a thought.

Anyhow,  please don’t hesitate to voice your thoughts regarding our support for Fred’s candidacy.  We’d …
