I’ve spent the last week–this one leading up to the election next week–thinking about what it is about Barack Obama that really bothers me. I mean, he seems a likeable-enough guy, good-looking, even-tempered, well-spoken. I’ve read Charles Krauthammer’s endorsement of John McCain, and of course, the editorials of my favorite conservatives at the Wall Street Journal, namely Daniel Henninger and Kimberly Strassel. But it was while watching the Dennis Miller piece on The O’Reilly Factor Wednesday night that clarified what it is about Obama that terrifies me. Barack Obama clearly doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong, and his entire life story illustrates it.
Barry’s mother was from Kansas, and in his first campaign advertisements, he talked about how she gave him her “Midwestern values”. Really? How do those values compare to two other notable Kansan’s–Bob Dole and Dwight Eisenhower? When was the last time a liberal Democrat nominee carried the state of Kansas in the Presidential election? Here’s how I see it, and it’s different from Obama’s spin: In the early 1960’s it was no yet acceptable to be white and associate with a black man, regardless of whether or not they were from Alabama or Kenya. Barry’s mother, for whatever reason, must have had a rebellious heart, a radical liberal for her time, and chose to “hook up” with his father. Exactly how much time has Obama spent with his father in the last 40 years? Why hasn’t he paraded him out during his campaign like he has so many other people? He’s spent more time with Joe the Plumber than his own daddy. My final point on this topic–where has his grandmother been the last two years? Where are the pictures from their time together? We know a lot more about John McCain and his family background than Obama, and I don’t for a minute think that’s an accident.
To continue this line of reasoning, who has Barry been spending time with the last 20 years? Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright. What type of people are they? What was the message that they delivered? These are not casual relationships; these are people that Obama spent a significant amount of time with and sought out. Obama has toned down his message in order to get elected, but the reality is that for the last 20 years, he has spent time with radical thinkers, not middle-of-the-road average people, but folks on the outskirts of the law and society. To Miller’s point on Wednesday night, prior to Obama’s interview with Bill O’Reilly, he (Miller) was under the impression that Obama went to Rev. Wright’s church a few times a year, (what we like to call C&E Christians–Christmas and Easter), but that’s not what he told O’Reilly. Obama said that he went to that church a couple of times a month and never heard radical invective from Rev. Wright. That means that over a 20 year period, he was in that church approximately 500 times and never heard the radical message! Miller says that proved to him that Obama was a liar beyond the shadow of a doubt.
But this is what’s shaped Obama’s worldview. His sense of fairness–spreading the wealth around–is a direct result of the relationships he’s formed and the life he’s led, and as a result, he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. He told Rick Warren that the issue of abortion is above his pay grade, which is a brutal cop out, because he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. Hanging out with the likes of Ayers, Rezko, and Wright and not running from them at his first opportunity proves he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. The fact that his campaign became obsessed with destroying Joe the Plumber’s credibility proves he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong.
What would this mean in an Obama administration? Socialistic wealth redistribution policies would be just the start. Could there be censuring of those who would dare to criticize him? Think about it. Fox News is the only reasonably conservative outlet, The Wall Street Journal is the only conservative newspaper. Could they be squelched? Would we be able to even write our opinions at a site such as this? Look at how the Dems treated Joe the Plumber? Why couldn’t that happen to us? Because when it comes right down to it, Barack Obama doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. He is the poster child for “Moral Relativity”. God help us all!
