State Political Conventions in Iowa POSTPONED!

Both the Democrats and Republicans have agreed to postpone their conventions, which were scheduled for this weekend. Flooding throughout the state will make it very difficult for people to travel let alone leave whatever chaos is currently ensuing in their homes and communities.

This was an exceptional decision by both parties’ leaders. We commend them for being proactive and thoughtful about the impact and burden holding these events would place on Iowans.

Democrats have yet to announce the new date for their convention. Republicans will gather on July 11 and 12.

No news yet on the availability of national figures like Huckabee and Gingrich who were scheduled to speak this weekend.

This will be good for me… the weekend was looking crazy with the floods and such, the convention was going to be hard to concentrate on.
