Last night’s debate, although I missed watching it (I don’t have Fox News on my cable, and I just figured out late in the debate that I could watch it at the Fox News web site), I caught the now oft repeated clip of Fred banging Hucks head against the wall. My favorite part (as was BitHead’s) was:

“That’s not the model of the Reagan coalition, that’s the model of the Democratic Party,”

Here’s the video:

As I’ve bounced around the blogs last night and this morning, it’s pretty clear that Fred stole the show (although I read one comment of disbelief that Ron Paul was still getting applause). This is a momentum that needs to continue. Fred’s campaign also reached it’s goal this morning of $550,000 (I think that was the number), and has now set their sights on $750,000 by midnight tonight (they’re at $648,000 at this writing). If you’d like to donate, click here. I’m personally convinced that Fred is the best conservative choice right now.

Fred now has the endorsement of Human Events, a weekly conservative periodical. William Lacy, Fred’s Campaign Manager, quotes this from the endorsement as key:

“We conclude that Thompson is a solid conservative whose judgment is grounded in our principles.”

The endorsement is well written and worth reading.

Update: (1/11 @ 7:00 PM Central) The Thompson campaign has exceeded the $750,000 revised goal they set this morning… they are at $755,000. Methinks they need to raise the bar a LOT higher!

Update: (1/12 @4:55 PM Central) Thompson has reached $848,000. Testing out You Tube… I hope the problem I had was my browser.
