To a group in Myrtle Beach, did Mike Huckabee really say:
“You don’t want people from outside the state coming in and telling you what to do with your flag,” Huckabee told an audience in Myrtle Beach. “If somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we’d tell ’em what to do with the pole.”
No, he could not have, could he? I’m reading this on just about every major news site… I’m flumaxed. All of the back and forth I’m reading is about this being a racist comment, which is certainly not a big stretch, but I’ve got a bigger problem with the statement. This is a patently offensive statement (due to the obvious unspoken innuendo) in any context. This is NOT the kind of comment I would expect of a Christian Pastor, Governor of any state, and most importantly from a President of the United States. This is just outlandish. Unacceptable behavior. I should not have to stoop to Huck’s level to convey the level of angst this kind of childishness creates in me.
And yes, I can be a bit of a prude. So sue me. We need a man of real integrity as the Republican candidate, not this joke. Speaking of which, does anyone know if Fred’s still in the race or not?
