It is a nice ad. It doesn’t give any information one way or another, just the glorified benefits of the Fair Tax without mentioning “Fair Tax”. So tell me again why this helps poverty level people who don’t pay tax now, and suddenly they are hit with 30% on their groceries and necessities that they can barely afford now? Also, what happens to charities and causes that rely on donations when those who no longer need a tax break do not donate? HMmmmmmm.

It is generally understood that the elimination of embedded taxes will effectively offset the consumption tax impact on consumer prices. However, in order to ensure an equitable hedge against the possibility of regressive impact, the plan includes a “prebate” to cover the tax impact on base necessities.
Regarding charities, tax deductibility is not necessarily the primary driver of charitable giving, and frankly the positive economic impact of the Fair Tax has a strong probability of increasing giving.
You can find out more information about the details of the Fair Tax if you buy and read the book. I found it extremely enlightening.
