What Is America Doing Right?

This morning was the annual Iowa Prayer Breakfast ^[1]. I was invited by a friend of mine this year, and having never attended before I was interested in seeing what really transpired there.

It turned out to be a good opportunity to reconnect with a few people, wonderful music provide by Faith Baptist Bible College Chorale, excellent food and a decent, though somewhat tempered agenda including some prayer, a couple of brief speeches, and an interesting keynote by David Noebel.

I suspect that attendance in general, and specifically by some more prominent Iowans who were conspicuous by their absence, including Goveror Chet Culver, and the entire Iowa Delegation to the US Congress with the exception of Leonard Boswell. I may not agree with Boswell’s politics, but I appreciate the fact he could make the time for this event.

But I don’t really condemn the others that were not in attendance. It is, you realize, Spring Break. Apparently a case of poor planning.

Noebel’s speech was titled “What’s Right With America”. It was an encouraging montage of information and stories about the things that we are, as a nation, doing well. I was rapt in the compelling assessment of our nation’s role in the world, providing more charitable support than any other country, doing the unthinkable by rebuilding the countries we defeated in World War II, having the highest rates of women, Jews, and people of African ancestry attending colleges and having strong roles in business in the world And most importantly, that people of faith have led the way in ensuring these successes.

I suspect that Noebel would have been able to speak for much longer. He is President of Summit Ministries ^[2] and is recognized as an expert on worldview analysis and the decline of morality and spirituality in Western Civilization. His background information goes on for quite a ways, and I won’t dig into all of that.

However, he brings a valuable perspective to the discussion of the faith in our country, and our country’s role in the world, with an extensive understanding of various world views and how they relate to each other. His book “Understanding The Times: The Collision of Today’s Competing Worldviews” was recently revised and I’m planning to read it soon. This book provides a side-by-side analysis of Christian, Islamic, Secular Humanist, Marxist-Leninist, Cosmic Humanist and Postmodern world views on a variety of topics including Ethics, Psychology, History, Economics and Politics.

I suspect there is a LOT more we could say about what’s right with America. What do you think? We’re have a page setup here ^[3] that will allow you to voice your own thoughts about what is right with our country.

Has it occured to anyone that Barry is mentally incapable of making an educated decision involving more than one sentence at a time. Also, if we have to keep asking ourselves, “is that man crazy?” The answer is most likely “yes!”
Here you have an admitted dope addict who used powerful drugs MDMA COKE HEROIN and basically anything he got his hands on…unless he’s on methadone there is no way to kick his habit. Maybe he ought to go see the shrinks at one of his prison camps…that’s politically incorrect? Ok call it RE-HAB…he needs to quit being a nusiance…I’ll bet his report card (if its ever found) says, “wastes time and annoys others.” He is so arrogant he smells to high heaven. Imagine if I did like he and his wife and started burning African flags. Well, we can easily see to it that the media who lied to everyone about Barrt are the first post-election companies to “bite-the-dust.” Commentators! I wonder if they have to practice repeating for their new jobs, “you want that supersized?”
This is all to say today…we will see justice…and we will end up with the dignity we choose…probably like the band playing on the Titanic as it went down to the bottom of the ocean. If we remain calm and convince the chief justice to do the right thing and tell this poor wimp Barry to resign or be impeached.
Besides being an admitted doper, he is a Muslim because he said so and he continues to break our laws. He is guilty of treason… Also, the election should be null and void because Acorn cheated and one elector voted after being dead for 8 years.
“Liar, liar, Barry’s pants are on fire!”

Can’t speak for everyone but a lot of us Seniors are boycotting dishonest media. The ones with biased reporting hiding the truth about Barry if that’s even his name. We do not buy magazines or newspapers for the same reason. We turn the TV off everytime a this liar, admitted doper, shows his face. He only thinks that he has conned everyone and perpetrated the biggest hoax ever. We oldsters have the time and the stamina to keep demanding this deceitful Muslim resign and pack up and leave with his tail between his legs like the dirty dog that he is. How dare he give new orders every day causing worry. Barry is terrorizing our Christian nation of generous peace loving people. For anyone to do this to the vast majority of hard working people, while our young people are fighting a war out of the country, is high treason. Why bother filing a complaint with the states Attorney Generals. They are appointed by the office of the president…they don’t have enough dignity to charge this inelligible mentally unstable clown.
